Gulab Jamun


Ingredients...
[1] 1 cup Carnation Milk Powder.
[2] 1/2 cup all purpose flour.
[3] 1/2 tsp baking soda
[4] 2 tablespoons melted butterWhole milk enough to make the dough.
For the Sugar Syrup...
[1] 2 cups Sugar.
[2] 1 cup water.
[3] 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder.
[4] Oil for frying.
Method...

# Heat butter and pour in a bowl.
# Make the dough by combining flour, baking soda and carnation powder.
# Knead well adding milk if necessary.
# Make a smooth ball, cover and let it rest for around 30 minutes.
# Make 12-14 small balls.
# Heat the oil until hot and fry the balls to a golden brown or until they are dark brown.
# For the sweet syrup - Heat water and sugar, and bring to boil, add cardamom seeds and
simmer.
# Boil, then simmer to reduce the water by half.
# Soak the balls in sugar syrup for a few hours until they double in size.
# Serve hot or cold.
